• 7 Ways To Get Through A Bad Day

Processed with VSCO with m5 preset

Alright, everyone knows the days, the ones where everything that could go wrong does and you are in absolutely no state to interact with people. At any point the smallest thing could happen that could just set you off completely. So basically your liking a ticking time bomb ready to explode.

Yeah thats me today. So in a way to get myself out of this funk..

People, clean space clean mind. I cannot tell you how annoyed I get when my room is messy and I trip on things. When my room is clean I feel more organized and CALM.

    2. SHOWER

This is kinda adding to the whole “clean space clean mind” concept. You will feel more awake and less stressed if you do this I promise you.

For some reason when I’m angry and am just in a bad mood there is no way I want to be anywhere near other humans. So hibernating in my room is my best option.

Alright, personally I have a list on my spotify of my all time favourite songs that you can never go wrong with. Listening to music can calm you and allow you to drown out everything.

Once you have somehow settled down a bit getting the things that might be stressing you out or annoying you out of the way is the best bad day medicine. The feeling of knowing that you don’t have to worry about this anymore is pure BLISS, gosh its great.

At the moment I am concurring one of these things. Blogging is a very relaxing thing for me. Maybe you like playing guitar, or painting your nails, or talking to people you haven’t seen in a while. Anything that might make you a little happier. Remember if you can’t think of anything there is always Netflix 😉

Seriously most of the things that have been stressing you out or have been annoying you today most likely won’t matter a year from now. BREATH and know that you will be okay!

Hope this helped you maybe in the slightest way, If not feel free to yell at me in the comments haha WHATEVER MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER!! Have a beautiful rest of your day!

  • How to Survive NaNoWriMo!

Processed with VSCO with a4 preset

Alright its coming back… National Novel Writing Month. Is anyone else as pumped as I am. Maybe its because I have been wanting to attempt another book for around a month now but knew I would not be able to stick to writing during school months without having a deadline.

For those of you who don’t know what NaNoWriMo is, basically its a challenge where you join the website and have a set goal of 50,000 words by the end of the month (November). Its such a great place where other writers are there to support you, give you tips, and encourage you to keep writing.

Yes yes I know that does sound kind of daunting just thinking about having to write that much in a time limit like that but really I find it rather fun! I participated last year and had an absolute blast.

Today I thought I would give MY 5 tips on how to survive NaNoWriMo… duh duh duuuuhh!!!

Okay I know there are many people who log into the NaNoWriMo website on the first day of November to set everything up and go from there but I’m telling you today getting prepared is the key to being able to get these words written and finish your novel. No No No I don’t mean start your novel early, thats not what I mean at all, wheres the challenge and fun in that? What I mean is I encourage you all to log in a few days ahead of time to enter your novel for the month. There are so many things your should be setting up and it could take a little while to do. Theres no use in waisting precious writing time on these settings if you can do it a few days before!

Now hopefully if you are entering NaNoWriMo you have some idea of what type of novel you want to write and what its about. This is pretty essential to start thinking of ahead of time. Like I said above, YOU ONLY HAVE 30 DAYS, Make good use of them!

Many people write in very different work environments, some need absolutely no sound, some need to have music or the tv playing in the background. I find that discovering a designated work area makes me focus better and get down to work. Preferably one with no people to distract you from the task at hand.

Okay every writer knows you can’t focus on an empty stomach, and unless you want to get up and look for food …and get distracted in the kitchen.. I would recommend getting your stash ready and beside you. Thus no need to leave your seat!

I am the type of person who usually hits a writers block pretty fast, the thing is if this happens of course take a break but still focus on the direction of the novel. This is where Inspiration boards come in handy. If your a Pinterest addict like me, set up a board just for visual inspiration for the style of your novel. It gets the hard part of your novel you are stuck on out of your mind and honestly its pretty fun! If you’re interested in checking out my Pinterest click HERE!

Of course there are many other things you can do to prepare and get ready for this big month but I promise you will do fine, and hey If you are even thinking about trying Writing month out the tiniest bit GO FOR IT! Just an attempt can get your creative juices flowing ( Low-key hate that expression but it works here hah)

Hope this helped you out a little and I will see you on Monday! 🙂

This book had me so engaged my friends had to rip it out of my hands to get my attention.screen-shot-2016-10-17-at-4-22-03-pm

When I started this book I didn’t have high expectations for it. I’d heard about it several times in the blogging community and through goodreads but just from the description I wasn’t as enticed as I usually am with contemporary novels.

In the beginning I read about 20 pages and was just very bored and eventually got distracted from reading in general. I really hate to put down a book and not pick it up again after I have already gotten a start on it, so this meant I had to finish it. Personally being one of those people who are really into the relationships blooming in contemporary novels you don’t really see much in the first few pages of this book but honestly it could have just been me being impatient after not reading a full novel in over a month.

After coming back to it and telling myself maybe it gets better I was so pleasantly surprised, suddenly you learn about these new characters like Linus and Natalie.

Sophie Kinsella’s writing style is amazing, I felt so intertwined with the story because there really were no dull moments. I personally enjoy how she split the chapters so they were very short, I always find if the chapters are more than 10 pages it makes it very hard to read. With smaller chapters it makes me think “okay well the next chapter is only 2 pages I can get through that before I have to go do the dishes” and then “oh look a one page chapter I can squeeze that in too!” Thus starts the never ending cycle of not wanting to put it down at all.

I also kind of enjoyed how every once in a while you would read the story through the perspective of Audrey holding the camera. I thought that was kind of unique seeing a video direction type of style!

Honestly after that first initial set back in the beginning I fell absolutely in love with this book. You can really feel what Audrey is going through and how the ups and down of the life graph effect her in the novel.

Would ABSOLUTELY recommend to those who love contemporary novels as much as I do! 5/5 stars!!book-rating-5

Okay little bit more of a discussion past this line! If you have not read this book but want to then WARNING SPOILERS!!!
